Jeremy Tait of Tait Consulting GmbH works independently on the technical foundations of energy efficiency policy for refrigeration and other equipment: test methods, efficiency metrics, quality frameworks, product performance benchmarking, design of energy label and energy performance (ecodesign) requirements, market surveillance training. He covers refrigerating and cooling equipment, electric motors and has worked on most types of household appliances. He assists policy-makers in EU (DG ENER, DG GROW), emerging economies (Egypt, Pakistan, Caribbean) and EU accession countries (Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina). A particular focus is now on policy and market building for productive use appliances in emerging economies, towards wider energy access (SDG7) and improving food security in Africa.
